THE HIDDEN FACE – A MAPPING OF DEPRESSION IN BUCHAREST

8 August, 2016

A cultural project with a social stake that addresses an invisible reality of the city, The Hidden Face – A Mapping Of Depression In Bucharest aims to explore personal stories about depression and its artistic translation in interactive formats. Represented both through an online platform and offline, as a series of audio-visual performances in public and dedicated spaces, the project explores personal stories of Bucharest citizens as a main asset in the fight against stigma.

The two complementary directions of the project have common goals, but use different tools in order to spread information and the project in different social strata and different geographic areas within a fragmented city defined by contrasts. A collaborative and collective process between the cultural sector and other sectors (anthropology, psychology, web development, advertising), The Hidden Face – A Mapping Of Depression In Bucharest aims to collaborate with the institutional environment in many areas, as well as with cultural organisations or private initiatives.
